To be considered for the Hall of Fame/Lifetime Achievement Award, the nominee must meet the following criteria:
- Teachers who have dedicated 20 or more years of active service to teaching orchestra in the state of North Carolina may be nominated for the NCMEA Orchestra Lifetime Achievement Award.
- Recipients must be current active or retired members of NCMEA.
- Nominations must be made by an active or retired NCMEA Orchestra member.
