“The President’s Own” United States Marine Band, in conjunction with the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation, is pleased to announce its annual Concerto Competition for High School Musicians. The winner will appear as a guest soloist with the U.S. Marine Band and receive a $2,500 scholarship from the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation. The runner-up will receive a $500 scholarship.
The final round of the competition will take place at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020 at John Philip Sousa Band Hall at the Marine Barracks Annex in Washington, D.C. This final round will be presented as a recital open to the public and live streamed online. The competition’s winner will perform in concert with the Marine Band at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 5, 2020 in the Washington, D.C. area.
All application materials are due by November 15.
